Monthly Meeting

The u3a is a self-help organization for people who are retired, semi-retired or no longer in full-time employment. It provides opportunities for members to share learning experiences and to pursue educational, creative and leisure activities in a friendly environment.

Meetings

Monthly Meetings are held at The Woodway Room Chudleigh Town Hall from 10:00 to 12:00 on the third Wednesday of each Month. You are welcome to attend these meetings as a visitor to meet members and group organizers, to listen to our guest speaker and to get a feel for what the u3a has to offer. Members pay £1 and visitors £2 to attend these meetings - this includes tea, coffee and biscuits.

We also hold informal coffee social meetings on the first Friday of each month at 10.30 in the Phoenix restaurant on Fore Street. Potential new members are welcome to join us and find out more.

A very early bus service from Chudleigh pictured outside the Lion Inn - can you guess when this was taken and has the service improved since then?

Join our History Group to find out more about the history of Chudleigh and the surrounding area.

Groups and Activities

We have over 100 members and a range of active Groups and Activities. It is a great way to meet local people and to make friends with neighbours. Costs are minimal because our activities are organized by our members, who share their skills, experience and expertise.

You can see details of our Groups and Monthly Meetings under the Activities menu item above - this shows the current list and details for each Group. A recent new Group is the Discussion Group which covers a particular current topic each meeting, and a Skittles Group is being formed to participate in the winter Skittles league at the Constitutional Club on Fore Street.
